 "K'nex Ferris Wheel" 2009-01-12
By AnaBanana (USA)
My 10 year-old daughter had a blast putting this toy together. I only had to help her when she couldn't snap a really tough one together. Unfortunately, when she put the largest wheel together it is crooked and doesn't spin without hitting the bottom supports. It seems like the base should be more sturdy or lifted to have the wheel spin. I need to contact Knex to find a solution. We have only assembled on of the two designs.

 "Construction set." 2009-01-07

I bought this toy for my 7 year old daughter and she loved putting it together. It was to hard for her to do by herself but with help from her dad she was able to do it. She loved seeing it operate after it was all together. The toy is well worth its price if someone is willing to help through the whole building process.

"Perfect for my 10 year old" 2009-01-07
By C. Primeau (Buhl, MN)
We have lots of experience with building kits like this so putting this one together was pretty easy for my 10 year old daughter. (with a little help from dad) It's big and colorful and the motor works great to turn it. We have it on a shelf in our family room and it looks cute. The only drawback to kits like this is once you build it the fun is over. Lego kits offer a lot more diveristy in what you can build aside from the original plan. If you like to build things and then display them, this would be good for you...if you like to build things, tear them apart and build other things then this might not be what you're looking for.

 "A great father / daugther project" 2009-01-06
By Rosaidh Ceallach (midwest)
I know some folks have said K'NEX is too hard for kids to put together, but IMO it is a project for a parent and a child. My husband and eight year old daugther have put two of these together working as a team and it was so much fun. My daughter has to use critical thinking skills and learns mechanical engineering techniques. This Ferris wheel was a fun project and is together and on display on my daughter's dresser. Her grandmother saw it and was so impressed. I think these types of projects offer quality time for parents / children and really challenge their minds. We have three more that the team will be working on in the near future.

"PRETTY COOL TOY, DIFFICULT FOR SMALL KIDS TO BUILD" 2009-01-03
By Cute Chihuahua (Orient, OH USA)
My son received the K'Nex Ferris wheel for Christmas and he really likes it. However this would very very difficult for a younger child to build. The kit contains contains 478 pieces and takes at least an hour to build. Once completed it stands 1 1/2 foot tall. If moves in forward or reverse and little lego men can snap into the seats to take a ride. There are also several amusement park ride sets similar to this set. Speed Coaster Octopus Whirl Drop-n-Swing K'NEX Dragon's Drop Roller Coaster
